THE ULTIMATE SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDE FOR CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES

As a successful construction company in Hamilton, we have tried many experiments with social media to find out what works for this industry.

With the development of social media and everything that comes with it, we worked hard to make sure we focused on what's most important-our customers; but we have also worked hard trying to find ways to make ourselves more understood in the digital world.

Here are some things we've learnt

 

 

 

 

1. PEOPLE DON'T SPEND MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS ON A WEBSITE

 

As a full service construction company we have many services such as landscaping, kitchen renovation, bathroom renovation, even demolition, and much more! Having a huge variety of services doesn't necessarily mean your website should be crammed up with details.

Make the main services visible and then create links to go from there.

 

2. DON'T POST THOSE BLURRY PHOTOS YOU TOOK AT A BAD ANGLE

 

Many times we take photos during our waterproofing projects and sometimes, not all of them turn out presentable. Although our job was done right sometime we just get a bad angle and we only realize after the fact, but at the end of the day, we don't post those photos because they don't actually showcase the high quality of our work.

 

3. SUPPORT EACH OTHER

 

A lot of time is spent liking other companies' photos and congratulating them on their achievements! Whether that is having completed a roofing service in Toronto or Burlington, we always make sure they know what we think. At the end of the day, it's all about being a part of the community!

 

4. ALWAYS LOOK TO GROW

 

Whether you're starting small and your goal is to get 1 Facebook like or maybe you're bigger and want to get 100 or 1000 Facebook likes, progress is progress! 

 

5. DON'T BUY YOUR FOLLOWERS

 

We understand the struggle of trying to grow your Instagram account as a construction company in Burlington or Hamilton but we also know that your customers will know if you bought your Instagram followers! When you have 2,000 followers and only 10 likes on a photo, there's something shady going on and your audience will know!

 

6. CREATE YOUR BRAND

 

What do you want your company to be known for? Do you want to be known as a construction company in Oakville? Or do you want to be known as a GREAT FULL SERVICE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY?

The choice is yours, and the things you post on a daily basis can show that. So, take your time posting the things that matter.
